Diagnostic Test

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect EPS control unit harness connector.
3. Check the voltage between the EPS control unit harness connector and ground.

   Terminals			Voltage
   (+)		(-)
   EPS control unit		Ground
   Connector	Terminal
   E45	3	-	Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

GO TO STEP 3  .

NO 

GO TO STEP 2  .

1. Check the 100A fusible link (#B).
2. Disconnect fuse box harness connector.
3. Check the continuity between EPS control unit harness connector and fuse box harness connector.

   EPS control unit		Fuse box		Continuity
   Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
   E45	3	E74	3	Existed

4. Check the continuity between EPS control unit harness connector and ground.

   EPS control unit		Ground	Continuity
   Connector	Terminal
   E45	3	-	Not existed

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

Perform trouble diagnosis for battery power supply. Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM - BATTERY POWER SUPPLY - .

NO 

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

Check the continuity between EPS control unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

GO TO STEP 4  .

NO 

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

1. Check the EPS control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
2. Check the fuse box pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

INSPECTION END

NO 

Repair or replace error-detected parts.
