Diagnosis Procedure

- CHECK HOOD SWITCH SIGNAL
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.TERMINALS VOLTAGE REFERENCE
(+) (-) Condition Voltage (V) (Approx.) IPDM E/R Connector Terminal E9 104 Ground Hood Open 0 Close Battery voltage
Is the inspection result normal?
YES: GO TO 5.
NO: GO TO 2.
- CHECK HOOD SWITCH CIRCUIT
- Disconnect IPDM E/R connector E9 and hood switch connector.
- Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and hood switch harness connector.TERMINALS CONTINUITY REFERENCE
IPDM E/R Hood switch Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal E9 104 E30 2 Existed - Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.TERMINALS CONTINUITY REFERENCE
IPDM E/R Ground Continuity Connector Terminal E9 104 Not existed
Is the inspection result normal?
YES: GO TO 3.
NO: Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK IPDM E/R OUTPUT
- Connect IPDM E/R connector.
- Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.TERMINALS VOLTAGE REFERENCE
(+) (-) Voltage (V) (Approx.) IPDM E/R Connector Terminal E9 104 Ground Battery voltage
Is the inspection result normal?
YES: GO TO 4.
NO: Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- CHECK HOOD SWITCH
Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES: GO TO 5.
NO: Replace hood switch.
- CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .
INSPECTION END
