When cleaning the interior of an Infiniti vehicle, damage may occur when using a cleaner with too high of an alkaline concentration (Figure 1).

HINT: If an audio display is returned through warranty and found to be damaged due to improper cleaning, it can be charged back to the retailer.

Always refer to the Appearance and care section of the related vehicle owner's manual and/or the Getting started section of the related Infiniti InTouch® owner's manual.
Not all cleaners are created equal.
Many cleaners come in concentrated form.
Alkaline cleaners (cleaners with a high pH value) can cause spots on the audio display and trim when not used as directed.

NOTE: To avoid damage to the audio display, adhere to the following recommendations:

To clean the display, use a dry, soft cloth.
If additional cleaning is necessary, use a small amount of neutral detergent with a soft cloth.
Never spray the screen with water or detergent. Dampen the cloth first, then wipe the screen.
Clean the display with the ignition OFF. If the display is cleaned with the ignition ON, unintentional operation may occur.
To clean the display, never use a rough cloth, alcohol benzine, thinner or any kind of solvent or paper towel with a chemical cleaning agent as they can scratch or deteriorate the display.
Do not splash any liquid, such as water or car fragrance, on the display. Contact with liquid will cause the system to malfunction.
Avoid using harsh cleaners and rough fabrics.
Use only neutral cleaning products. Refer to the manufacturer's label as some cleaners will cause damage to the interior of the vehicle.
Make sure to follow all instructions in the Appearance and care section of the related vehicle owner's manual and/or the related Infiniti InTouch® owner's manual.

Cleaners should have a pH that is close to neutral (pH of 7). Cleaners with a neutral pH include mild soaps and general purpose dishwashing liquids.
