Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (IGNITION SWITCH SIGNAL) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the ignition switch signal is functioning properly (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).

      Sliding Roof 

      TECHSTREAM SLIDING ROOF - DATA LIST

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Ignition (MPX) Ignition switch signal (MPX signal)/ON or OFF ON: Ignition switch ON
      OFF: Ignition switch OFF
      -
      Ignition (Direct Signal) Ignition switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Ignition switch ON
      OFF: Ignition switch OFF
      -

      OK: The Techstream displays as shown in the table according to the operation of each switch. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)  (see DISASSEMBLY  )

  2. INSPECT FUSE (S/ROOF, ECU-IG No. 1) 
    1. Remove the S/ROOF and ECU-IG No. 1 fuses from the main body ECU.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      INSPECT FUSE (S/ROOF, ECU-IG No. 1) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S/ROOF fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      ECU-IG No. 1 fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the W3 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      W3-9 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      W3-9 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V
      W3-10(B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W3-8 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)  (see DISASSEMBLY  )
