Inspection Procedure

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (TAILLIGHT)
- Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test".
NG: Go to step 2
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- INSPECT FUSE (TAIL)
- Remove the TAIL fuse from the main body ECU.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
FUSE (TAIL)Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition TAIL fuse Always Below 1 Ω
NG: REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TAILLIGHT BULB - BATTERY)
- for LH:
- Disconnect the R5 taillight connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
TAILLIGHT BULB - BATTERY LHTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition R5-4 (TL) - Body ground Light control switch TAIL 11 to 14 V Light control switch expect TAIL Below 1V
- for RH:
- Disconnect the R4 taillight connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
TAILLIGHT BULB - BATTERY RHTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition R4-4 (TL) - Body ground Light control switch TAIL 11 to 14 V Light control switch expect TAIL Below 1 V
NG: Go to step 4
OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TAILLIGHT - BODY GROUND)
- for LH:
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BATTERY)
- Disconnect the DA ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
MAIN BODY ECU - BATTERYTester Connection Condition Specified Condition DA-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TAILLIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU)

- Disconnect the DB ECU connector.
- for LH:

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
