Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH 
    1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch (see REMOVAL  ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 4 Hazard warning switch ON Below 1 Ω
      Hazard warning switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH  (see REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH-TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L3 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH-TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L3-4 - J29-12 (HAZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      L3-1 - Body ground
      L3-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
