Headlight Dimmer Switch: Inspection

INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Check the light control switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
12 (EL) - 18 (T)	Light control switch TAIL	Below 1 Ω
12 (EL) - 18 (T) - 20 (H)	Light control switch HEAD
12 (EL) - 19 (A)	Light control switch AUTO

If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch.

Check the headlight dimmer switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
17 (HF) - 11 (HU) - 12 (EL)	Headlight dimmer switch FLASH	Below 1 Ω
16 (HL) - 12 (EL)	Headlight dimmer switch LOW BEAM
11 (HU) - 12 (EL)	Headlight dimmer switch HI BEAM

If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch.

HINT:

Perform the "LOW BEAM" and "HI BEAM" inspection with the light control switch on "HEAD".

Check the turn signal switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

TURN SIGNAL SWITCH

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
12 (EL) - 13 (TR)	Turn signal switch right turn	Below 1 Ω
12 (EL) - 15 (TL)	Turn signal switch left turn	Below 1 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch.

Check the fog light switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

FOG LIGHT SWITCH

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
3 (LFG) - 4 (BFG)	Front fog light switch ON	Below 1 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch.
