Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION
).
- INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE
).
Result

B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
A: Go To Next Step
- Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE
).
- INSPECT CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION
- Check the skid control ECU connector connection condition.
OK: The connector is securely connected.
NG: CONNECT CONNECTOR CORRECTLY
OK: Go To Next Step
- Check the skid control ECU connector connection condition.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the A17 ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLETester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition A17-9 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V Standard Resistance

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go To Next Step
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Select the Active Test mode and operate the SLIP indicator light using the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
DIAGNOSTIC NOTE TABLETester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Slip Indicator Light SLIP indicator light ON/OFF Observe combination meter - Check that the SLIP indicator light turns on and off in the combination meter when using the Techstream.
OK: The SLIP indicator light turns on and off in accordance with the Techstream operation.
NG: GO TO METER/GAUGE SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
OK: Go To Next Step
- INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH
- Remove the VSC OFF switch (See REMOVAL ).
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLETester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 6-9 Switch is pressed Below 1 Ω Switch is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH
OK: Go To Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VSC OFF SWITCH AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the A17 ECU connector.
- Disconnect the J22 switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLETester Connection Condition Specified Condition A17-13 (CSW) - J22-9 Always Below 1 Ω A17-13 (CSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher J22-6 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
