WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: In case of replacing the skid control ECU, perform the zero point calibration of the steering angle sensor, master cylinder pressure sensor, and yaw rate and deceleration sensor (see CALIBRATION  ).

  1. INSTALL VSC ACTUATOR WITH ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY
    1. Install the VSC actuator with actuator bracket with the 3 nuts.
NOTE: Do not drop the actuator. If dropped, replace it.
    2. Tighten the 3 nuts uniformly in alphabetical order.

      Torque: 22 N*m (224 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf)

    2. Using a union nut wrench, connect the 4 brake tubes.

      Torque: without union nut wrench

      15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)

      with union nut wrench

      14 N*m (145 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
      • The torque value for use with a union nut wrench is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.

  3. INSTALL BRAKE TUBE
    1. Using a union nut wrench, connect the 2 brake tubes to the brake master cylinder.

      Torque: without union nut wrench

      20 N*m (199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)

      with union nut wrench

      18 N*m (185 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf)

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
      • The torque value for use with a union nut wrench is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
