Front Shock Absorber: Disposal
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- DISPOSE OF FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH
- Fully extend the shock absorber rod.
- Using a drill, make a hole in the cylinder between A and B shown in the illustration to discharge the gas inside.
CAUTION:
- Be careful when drilling because shreds of metal may fly about. Always use the proper safety equipment.
- For off road type shock absorbers, be extremely careful when drilling it as its gas pressure is much higher than the standard type.
NOTE: The gas is colorless, odorless and nonpoisonous.
