Diagnostic Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC WITH TCM 

    Refer to "ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) SYSTEM ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 2.
    2. NG: Repair or replace.
  2. CHECK STARTING SYSTEM 

    Turn ignition switch OFF, then turn it to START.

    Does starter motor operate? 

    Yes or No 

    1. Yes: GO TO 3.
    2. No: Refer to "STARTING SYSTEM ".
  3. CHECK PNP SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT-I 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect A/T assembly harness connector.
    3. Disconnect fuse block (J/B) No. 1 connector M1.
    4. Check harness continuity between A/T assembly terminal 9 and fuse block (J/B) No. 1 terminal 17D.

      Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .

      1. Continuity should exist. 
    5. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power. 

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  5.
    2. NG: GO TO 4.
  4. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART 

    Check the following.

    • Harness connectors M135, F105
    • Harness for open or short between A/T assembly and fuse block (J/B) No. 1
      1. Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
  5. CHECK PNP SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT-II 
    1. Disconnect fuse block (J/B) No. 1 connector E201.
    2. Check harness continuity between fuse block (J/B) No. 1 terminal 1E and ground.

      Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .

      1. Continuity should exist. 
    3. Also check harness for short to power.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 6.
    2. NG: Repair open circuit or short to power in harness or connectors.
  6. CHECK PNP SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT-III 
    1. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
    2. Check harness continuity between ECM terminal 102 and fuse block (J/B) No. 1 terminal 19D.

      Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .

      1. Continuity should exisst. 
    3. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  8.
    2. NG: GO TO 7.
  7. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART 

    Check the following.

    • Harness connectors F105, M135
    • Harness for open or short between ECM and fuse block (J/B) No. 1
      1. Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
  8. CHECK FUSE BLOCK (J/B) NO. 1 

    Refer to "FUSE BLOCK - JUNCTION BOX (J/B) NO. 1 ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 9.
    2. NG: Replace fuse block (J/B) No. 1
  9. CHECK PNP SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT-III 
    1. Check harness continuity between A/T assembly terminal 9 and TCM terminal 8.

      Refer to "DTC P0615: START SIGNAL CIRCUIT ".

      1. Continuity should exisst. 
    2. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 10.
    2. NG: Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
  10. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT 

    Refer to "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR INTERMITTENT INCIDENT ".

    1. INSPECTION END
