Circuit Description

Body Control Module (BCM) must be configured with applicable vehicle options. DTC B1001 will set if BCM was not configured either at assembly plant or after module replacement. If BCM detects a non-configured module, DTC B1001 is set, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator illuminates and check gauges chime sounds. A current DTC B1001 will clear when module is properly programmed. A history DTC will clear after module ignition cycle counter reaches reset threshold, without a repeat of malfunction.
