Parking Components: Installation

CAUTION: After completing installation, check A/T fluid leakage and A/T fluid level. Refer to CHANGING A/T FLUID and CHECKING A/T FLUID .

Install return spring in parking pawl.
Install parking pawl and pawl shaft in output shaft & companion flange complement.
Install parking actuator support in output shaft & companion flange complement.

Apply recommended sealant (Genuine Anaerobic Liquid Gasket or equivalent) to output shaft & companion flange complement as shown in illustration.
CAUTION: Complete remove all moisture, oil and old sealant, etc. From the transmission case and output shaft & companion flange complement mounting surfaces.
Install output shaft & companion flange complement in transmission assembly.
Tighten output shaft & companion flange complement mounting bolts to specified torque. (Because terminal bracket is tightened together with output shaft & companion flange, it should be installed before step 5.)
CAUTION: Do not reuse self-sealing bolt.
1. Output shaft & companion flange complement mounting bolt:
2. : 52 N.m (5.3 kg-m, 38 ft-lb)
1. Self-sealing bolt:
2. : 61 N.m (6.2 kg-m, 45 ft-lb)
Install engine rear member. Refer to INSTALLATION .
Install propeller shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Install exhaust front tube and center muffler. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Install drain plug on oil pan.
CAUTION: Do not reuse drain plug gasket.
1. : 34 N.m (3.5 kg-m, 25 ft-lb)

CAUTION: Using automatic transmission fluid other than Genuine Nissan Matic J ATF will cause deterioration in driveability and automatic transmission durability, and may damage the automatic transmission, which is not covered by the INFINITI new vehicle limited warranty.

Pour ATF into transmission assembly. Refer to A/T FLUID .
