Ignition Coil (Frontier & XTERRA)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Nissan Xterra, 2003 Nissan Sentra, 2003 Nissan Pathfinder, 2003 Nissan Murano, and 2003 Nissan Maxima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Ignition coil is located in distributor. Turn ignition off. Disconnect distributor 2-pin harness connector (ignition coil connector). Remove distributor cap. For primary coil, measure resistance between distributor 2-pin connector terminals (component side). For secondary coil, measure resistance between distributor 2-pin connector terminal No. 7 and coil tower. See Fig 1. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE (FRONTIER & XTERRA)  table. Replace distributor assembly, if resistance is not as specified.
