Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Check input signal  .
    1. WITHOUT CONSULT-II GO TO  2.
  2. Check input signal  .

    Without CONSULT-II 

    1. Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position.
    2. Disconnect ABS control unit harness connector.
    3. Disconnect ABS control unit and transfer control unit harness connectors.
    4. Check continuity between transfer control unit harness connector terminal 32 and ABS control unit harness connector terminal 13.

      Continuity should exist  .

    5. Check continuity between transfer control unit harness connector terminal 32, ABS control unit harness connector terminal 13 and body ground.

      No continuity should exist  .

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  3.
    2. NG Repair or replace harness or connector between ABS control unit and transfer control unit.

  3. Check communication line  .

    Check communication line between ABS control unit and transfer control unit.

    Refer to 8. VEHICLE VIBRATES EXCESSIVELY WHEN ABS IS OPERATING under TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR SYMPTOMS in BRAKES.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  4.
    2. NG Check, repair or replace faulty parts.

  4. Perform self-diagnosis again  .

    After driving for a while, perform self-diagnosis again.

    Refer to TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT CONSULT-II .

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG:
      1. Perform transfer control unit input/output signal inspection. Refer to TRANSFER CONTROL UNIT INSPECTION TABLE  under TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS - GENERAL DESCRIPTION.
      2. If NG, rechecked transfer control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
