Possible Causes

ECM illuminates MIL and sets DTC P0500 when zero MPH signal is sent to ECM while vehicle is moving. Possible causes are:

• VSS signal circuit open or shorted.
• Poor, loose, corroded or damaged terminal connections.
• Defective ABS actuator and electric unit or ABS/TCS control unit.
• Defective instrument cluster.
