CAUTION: Never use compressed air. Doing so may damage the EVAP system. Do not start engine. Do not exceed 0.6 psi (4.12 kPa).
  1. Attach the EVAP service port adapter securely to the EVAP service port. See Figure . Connect a pressure pump and a hose. Also connect a vacuum gauge via 3-way connector and a hose.

  3. Apply pressure and ensure the following conditions are satisfied:
    • Pressure to be applied: 0.79 in. Hg (2.7 kPa).
    • Time to wait after the pressure drawn in to the EVAP system and the pressure to be dropped: 60 seconds and the pressure should not drop more than 0.12 in. Hg (0.4 kPa).
  4. If NG is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If OK is displayed, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect scan tool. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Restart engine and let it idle for 90 seconds. Keep engine speed at 2000 RPM for 30 seconds. Turn ignition off.
