DTC Confirmation Procedure (Using Generic Scan Tool)

  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Disconnect MAF sensor harness connector. Start engine and let it idle for at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition off and reconnect MAF sensor harness connector.
  2. Select MODE 3 with GST. Ensure DTC P0102 is detected. Select MODE 4 and erase 1st trip DTC. Start engine and let it idle for at least 10 minutes. Select MODE 7. If 1st trip DTC P0171 or P0174 is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC P0171 or P0174 is not detected, go to next step.
  3. If it is difficult to start engine, fuel injection system has a malfunction. Attempt to start engine while depressing accelerator pedal. If engine starts, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If engine does not start, visually check for intake and exhaust leaks.
