Diagnostic Procedure
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. See Figure
. Check continuity between body ground and ECM harness connector terminal No. 78 (Black wire). See Figure
. Continuity should exist. Also, check circuit for short to voltage. If problem is found, go to next step. If problem is not found, go to step 3
.
- Check the following:
- Check for poor connection at White, 18-pin harness connector F66 terminal No. 7 (Black wire). See Figure
. Connector is located under instrument panel. See Figure
.
- Check for open or short between ECM and body ground.
- Check for poor connection at White, 16-pin connector M110 terminal No. 10 (Black wire). See Figure
. Connector M110 is located under center console. See Figure
.
- Check for poor connection at White, 18-pin connector M6 terminal No. 6 (Green wire). See Figure
. Connector M6 is located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure
.
- Check for open between body ground and ECM.
Repair as necessary.
- Disconnect fuel pump assembly harness connector located behind access cover, under rear seat. Measure resistance between fuel pump assembly terminals No. 2 and 5 as shown in illustration. See Figure
. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel level sensor.
- No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS
in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
