Fail-Safe Mode

When malfunction is detected, ECM enters fail-safe mode and MIL illuminates. The ECM controls electric throttle control actuator to regulate the throttle opening so that idle position will be within +10 degrees. The ECM regulates opening speed of throttle valve to be slower than normal. As a result, acceleration will be poor.
