Trunk Lid Key Cylinder Switch Check
- Measure voltage by backprobing between SECU terminal No. 12 (Green/Black wire) and ground with trunk lid key in appropriate position. See Figure
and Fig 1
. When trunk lid key is in neutral position, voltage should be about 5 volts. When trunk lid key is in unlock position, voltage should be zero volts. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step. If voltage is as specified, trunk lid key cylinder switch is okay.
- Disconnect trunk lid key cylinder switch connector, and check continuity between trunk lid key switch terminals with trunk lid key in appropriate position. See Fig 1
. When trunk lid key is in neutral position, continuity should not be present. When trunk lid key is in unlock position, continuity should be present. If continuity is not as specified, replace trunk lid key cylinder switch. If continuity is as specified, inspect Green/Black wire between SECU and trunk lid key cylinder switch for open or short.
