DTC P0180: Fuel Tank Temperature Sensor: Procedure
- Disconnect fuel level sensor/FTT sensor harness connector located under rear seat. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and FTT sensor harness connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green/Red wire). If voltage is about 5 volts, go to step 3. If voltage is not about 5 volts, go to next step.
- Check the following:
- Check for faulty connections at Green, 10-pin in-line harness connector M-74 located behind right kick panel.
- Check for faulty connections at White, 18-pin in-line harness connector M-49 located under left front of console.
- Check for open or short in Light Green/Red wire between FTT sensor harness connector terminal No. 2 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 82. See Figure and Figure .
Repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition off. Check continuity between ground and FTT sensor harness connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire). Continuity should exist. Also, check circuit for short to voltage. Repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Remove FTT sensor, and place in heated water. Measure resistance between FTT sensor terminals No. 1 and 2, with water at specified temperatures. See FTT SENSOR RESISTANCE table. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace FTT sensor.
- No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
