Fuel Warning Sensor Circuit
NOTE:
During this procedure, PCM may store DTC P0180 and P0464. If set, erase DTC after reconnecting fuel tank sending unit. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit harness connector. Install an 80-ohm resistor between fuel gauge sending unit harness connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and terminal No. 4 (Green/Red wire). See Fig 1 . While observing fuel warning light, turn ignition switch to ON position. If fuel warning light does not illuminate, see FUEL GAUGE CIRCUIT TEST . If fuel warning light illuminates, fuel warning light circuit is okay.
