Trunk Lid Opener Check

  1. Inspect trunk lid actuator. Operate trunk lid release button located under driver's armrest. If trunk lid opens, go to next step. If trunk lid does not open, inspect and repair trunk lid actuator system. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Disconnect Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) 18-pin connector and apply ground to terminal No. 12 (Blue wire). See Figure . If trunk lid does not open, inspect Blue wire between trunk lid actuator and SECU for open or short. If trunk lid opens, replace SECU.
