Fuel Rails & Injectors: Installation

Install NEW "O" rings on injectors and lubricate with clean engine oil. Install injectors and injector retainers. See Figure. Tighten injector retainer bolts to specification. Install fuel rail and tighten fuel rail bolts from front to rear (in 2 steps) to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Pressurize fuel system and check for leaks.

Install NEW "O" rings on injectors and lubricate with clean engine oil. Install injectors to fuel rail. Align protrusion on fuel injector with protrusion on fuel rail. See Fig 1. Install NEW injector retaining clip. Install fuel rail. Tighten fuel rail bolts to specification in 2 steps. Using NEW gaskets, install intake manifold collector and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . When tightening intake manifold collector bolts, tighten 2 middle bolts first, and then 2 end bolts. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Start engine and check for leaks.
