Electrical Components Inspection

  1. Connect Nissan ABS Tester (KV999P1000) to actuator connector. Set channel select switch to channel 3. Turn ABS tester on. Check ABS tester power indicator. If power indicator is on, go to next step. If power indicator is off, replace battery and retest.
  2. Check ABS tester valve indicator. If valve indicator is on, go to next step. If valve indicator is off, replace solenoid valve relay and retest.
  3. Using ABS tester, select FL, FR or RR. Select brake circuit pressure decrease position by switch. Turn motor switch on. Select pressure increase position. Check motor indicator. If motor indicator is on, go to next step. If motor indicator is off, replace motor relay and retest.
CAUTION: DO NOT select circuit pressure decrease position for more than 5 seconds or damage to actuator solenoid may occur.
  4. Listen for motor operational noise. If motor is operating, go to next step. If motor is not operating, and DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES 6-11 have been performed, replace actuator assembly.
  5. Observe ABS tester and depress brake pedal. With motor switch on, no brake pedal vibration should be felt. With motor switch on and wheel position select switch positioned on FL, FR or RR, brake pedal vibration should be felt. If brake pedal vibration is as specified, go to next step. If brake pedal vibration is not as specified, replace actuator assembly and retest.
  6. With brake pedal still depressed, use ABS tester and select pressure increase. If brake pedal position drops, actuator assembly is functioning properly. Testing is complete. If brake pedal position does not drop, replace actuator assembly.
