DTC P1320 - Ignition Signal

  1. Check Power Supply

Start engine. If engine starts, go to step 3). If engine does not start, go to next step.
  2. Check Ground Circuit

Turn ignition off. Disconnect power transistor harness connector. See Fig 1. Verify harness continuity between power transistor connector terminal 21 and engine ground. See Fig 2. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary.
  3. Check Output Signal Circuit

Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Verify harness continuity between following ECM connector terminal and power transistor connector terminal: See Fig 3.
    • Power Transistor terminal 1 and ECM terminal No. 1.
    • Power Transistor terminal 2 and ECM terminal No. 2.
    • Power Transistor terminal 3 and ECM terminal No. 3.
    • Power Transistor terminal 4 and ECM terminal No. 7.
    • Power Transistor terminal 5 and ECM terminal No. 8.
    • Power Transistor terminal 6 and ECM terminal No. 9.

If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. If continuity is present, go to next step.

  4. Check Component

Disconnect power transistor wiring harness connector. Check power transistor. See BASIC TESTING article. Check ECM connector terminals for corrosion or damage. Repair if necessary and perform FINAL CHECK .
