DTC 103: Inhibitor/Neutral Position Switch
NOTE:
Steps 1-3 are for A/T models. For M/T models, go to step 4.
- Check Ground Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect inhibitor switch wiring harness connector. Check continuity between connector terminal "A" (Black wire) and body ground. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Input Signal Circuit
Check continuity between switch connector terminal "B" (Brown/White wire) and ECM harness connector terminal No. 22. See Fig 4 . If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Component
Ensure inhibitor switch is not damaged or contaminated. Check inhibitor switch and ECM harness connectors for damage, corrosion or pushed-out pins. Repair if necessary. If no problems are found, replace inhibitor switch.NOTE: Steps 4-6 are for M/T models. For A/T models, go to step 1. - Check Ground Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect neutral position switch wiring harness connector. Check continuity between connector terminal "B" (Black wire) and body ground. See Fig 4 and Fig 5 . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Input Signal Circuit
Check continuity between switch connector terminal "A" (Brown/White wire) and ECM harness connector terminal No. 22. See Fig 6 . If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Component
Ensure neutral position switch is not damaged or contaminated. Check neutral position switch and ECM harness connectors for damage, corrosion or pushed-out pins. Repair if necessary. If no problems are found, replace neutral position switch.
