Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (CALIFORNIA Models Only)

The exhaust gas temperature sensor, which is located near the EGR valve, detects temperature of exhaust gases passing through EGR valve. Sensor, which incorporates a thermistor, changes its resistance value in response to changes in the exhaust gas temperature. As the temperature of the exhaust gases increases, the resistance of the sensor decreases. These changes in resistance are interpreted by the ECU and used in calculations to control output voltage signals to EGR solenoid.
