Function And Features

ETC (Electronic Throttle Control Valve) is an electronically controlled throttle control valve that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine according to the driver's intention. ETC consists of a motor, a throttle body, and a throttle position sensor. After the PCM operates the throttle valve by duty controlling the ETC motor, it detects the throttle position sensor signal and checks whether the throttle valve is operating. The throttle position sensor is a variable resistor, and its electrical resistance changes according to the opening angle of the throttle valve, and the output signal changes accordingly. The throttle position sensor is composed of sensor 1 and sensor 2. In case of failure, they use each other's signals instead. That is, when TPS1 fails, it is used as the signal value of TPS2, and when TPS2 fails, it is used as the signal value of TPS1.
