Function And Features
The accelerator pedal position sensor (APS) is installed in the accelerator pedal module and is the most important sensor that transmits the driver's will to accelerate to the PCM to determine the amount of fuel according to the demand for acceleration.
The pedal position sensor is a sensor whose reliability is important, and consists of sensor 1, which is the main signal, and sensor 2, which monitors sensor 1. Sensors 1 and 2 are composed of independent power and ground, and sensor 2 generates 1/2 of sensor 1's output, so if the voltage ratio of sensors 1 and 2 deviates beyond a certain level, it is determined as an error.
