ETC (Electronic Throttle Control) Module: Cleaning

  1. Remove the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) module.

    (Refer to Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Module - "REMOVAL ")

  2. Keep the opening position of the ETC module plate (A) with the fixing jig.

  3. Using a cleaner and soft cloth to clean the contaminated area inside the throttle body. Be careful not to get foreign matters.

    NOTE:
    • Do not spray cleaning fluid to ETC directly and use a lint free cloth moistened with throttle cleaning fluid.
    • Be careful not to wipe the coating liquid (displayed area) around the shaft. If the coating liquid is removed, a poor idle control may occur due to the inflow of foreign matters into the shaft inner bearing and an excessive amount of air leaking.
  4. After cleaning it, re-install the ETC module and perform ETC module learning procedure.
