Case1) some of the procedures are missing on the flow chart,
→ Go on to the missing procedure.
Case2) If the same DTC returns, even though mechanic has completed the whole procedure in the flow chart,
→ It is possible to suspect a failure of the controller unit. Go to next procedure to proceed with the controller pass/fail decision.
Information
Controller Quality Judgement Procedure
- Replace with a normal BDC by referring to the appropriate service information.
- If the DTC is cleared after replacing with a normal BDC: It is controller error so replace the normal BDC and release the vehicle.
- If the DTC is still not cleared after a normal BDC is installed: It is impossible to determine the controller as the cause of the fault.
In this case, place the existing BDC again, and check for the whole inspection flow again.
