Automatic Transaxle: Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Follow separately each procedure as shown below according to reinstallation or replacing information of a new automatic transaxle.
  2. In case of the reinstallation.
    1. Replace the oil seal (A) with a new one when ATF leak occurred because of differential oil seal damage.

      NOTE:
      • When installing the new oil seal, use the special service tool (09452-3D100, 09231-H1100).

    2. When reinstalling the automatic transaxle, apply grease to the hybrid drive motor input shaft spline (A).

      Recommended grease  : CASMOLY L9508, KLUBER 9R100 or equivalent grease

      Quantity  : 0.2 g

    3. Check that there is no gap between the engine and the hybrid motor assembly.

    4. Fill the engine and automatic transaxle system coolant.

      (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "COOLANT ")

    5. Check the ATF level after refilling the automatic transaxle with fluid.

      (Refer to Hydraulic System - "AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) ")

    6. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the diagnostic tool.
      NOTE:
      • Even though disconnecting the battery negative terminal, the DTC will not be cleared.
    7. Add coolant on the hybrid motor cooling system and perform air bleeding job using diagnostic tool.

    8. Perform the engine clutch fluid pressure calibration using the diagnostic tool.
    9. Perform the motor/HSG resolver calibration using the diagnostic tool.
  3. In case of the replacing with a new automatic transaxle.
    1. New automatic transaxle is already filled with specified quantity ATF.
      NOTE:
      • It is not necessary to refill and check the ATF. However, the remaining ATF in the ATF cooler has to be drained.
        1. Connect the air gun to the ATF cooler hose.
        2. Use a beaker to receive ATF that is discharged through the opposite hose by injecting air.
    2. Reset the automatic transaxle adaptive values using the diagnostic tool.

    3. Perform EOP flow deviation learning using the diagnostic tool.
    4. Perform the oil-pressure characteristics input using the diagnostic tool.
    5. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the diagnostic tool.
      NOTE:
      • Even though disconnecting the battery negative terminal, the DTCs will not be cleared.
    6. Perform the TCM adaptive values learning procedure.
