Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
  1. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
  2. Disconnect the water cooled intercooler inlet hose and then drain the water cooled intercooler coolant.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "COOLANT ")

  3. Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/recycling/charging station.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  4. Remove the front bumper beam assembly.

    (Refer to Front Bumper - "FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY ")

  5. Remove the head lamps.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD LAMPS ")

  6. Remove the daytime running lights (DRL).

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRL) ")

  7. Disconnect the hood latch cable (A).

  8. Disconnect the hood latch connector (A).

  9. Separate the suction & liquid line (A), after removing the nuts.

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

  10. Remove the air duct (A).

  11. Disconnect the FIS connector (A).

  12. Disconnect the front end module main connector (A).

  13. Remove the intercooler inlet hose & pipe (A).

  14. Remove the intercooler outlet hose & pipe (A).

  15. Separate reservoir hose (A).

  16. Separate the ATF cooler hose (A).

  17. Separate the radiator upper hose (A).

  19. Remove the carrier assembly (A) from the body, after removing the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    25.5 - 38.2 N.m (2.6 - 3.9 kgf.m, 18.8 - 28.2 lb-ft)

  20. Remove the horn.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "HORN ")

  21. Remove the condenser.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - "CONDENSER ")

  22. Remove the radiator.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "RADIATOR ")

  23. Remove the hood latch.

    (Refer to Hood - "HOOD LATCH ")

  24. Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Information 

    • Make sure the connector is connected properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips or retainers.
