Repair Procedures: Removal
- Be sure to read and follow the "General Safety Information And Caution " before doing any work related with the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injuries.
- Be sure to read and follow the "High Voltage Shut-Off Procedures " before doing any work related with the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injuries.
- Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.
(Refer to General Information - "LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ")
- Shut off the high voltage circuit.
(Refer to Automatic Transaxle System - " HIGH VOLTAGE SHUT-OFF PROCEDURES ")
- Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - " ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Drain the engine coolant.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - " ENGINE COOLANT ")
- Drain the coolant of hybrid motor cooling system.
(Refer to Hybrid Motor System - " COOLANT ")
- Remove the Hybrid Power Control Unit (HPCU) assembly.
(Refer to Hybrid Control System - " HPCU (HYBRID POWER CONTROL UNIT) ")
- Loosen the wiring bracket mounting nut (A) and ground bolt (B).
Tightening torque: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the connectors as shown in the illustration below.
- Disconnect the wiring clip (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and then remove the wiring bracket.
Tightening torque: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the air bleed hose clip (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and then remove the wiring bracket.
Tightening torque: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the hybrid motor high voltage cable (A).
Information
- Disconnect the Electric Oil Pump (A) and clutch pressure sensor connector (B).
- Disconnect the wiring clip (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and then remove the wiring bracket.
Tightening torque: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the clutch pressure sensor connector (A).
- Loosen the hybrid drive motor upper mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque: 42.2 - 54.0 N.m (4.3 - 5.5 kgf.m, 31.1 - 39.8 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the ATF warmer hose (A).
- Assemble the engine support fixture use a (Beam SST No.: 09200 - 3N000), (Engine support fixture (Front) SST No.: 09200-L1200), (Engine support fixture (Supporter) SST No.: 09200-2S200).
- Using the engine support fixture (A), hold the engine and transaxle assembly safely.
- Remove the front wheel guard. [LH]
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - " FRONT WHEEL GUARD ")
- Loosen the transaxle support mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque: 107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolts and then removing the transaxle bracket (A).
Tightening torque: 58.9 - 78.5 N.m (6.0 - 8.0 kgfm, 43.4 - 57.9 lb-ft)
- Remove the front sub frame.
(Refer to Suspension System - " FRONT SUB FRAME ")
- Remove the drive shaft assembly.
(Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - " FRONT DRIVESHAFT REPAIR PROCEDURES ")
- In case of 4WD vehicle, remove the transfer assembly.
(Refer to 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) System - " FRONT WHEEL TRANSFER ASSEMBLY ")
- Disconnect the Electric Oil Pump (EOP) high voltage cable (A).
Information
- Disconnect the ATF warmer hose (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and then remove the wiring bracket.
Tightening torque: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolts and then separate the Auxiliary Electronic Water Pump (AEWP) (A).
Tightening torque: 19.6 - 26.5 N.m (2.0 - 2.7 kgf.m, 14.5 - 19.5 lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolts and then removing the roll rod support bracket (A).
Tightening torque: 49.0 - 68.6 N.m (5.0 - 7.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 50.6 lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolt and then removing the dust cover (A).
Tightening torque: 42.2 - 48.1 N.m (4.3 - 4.9 kgf.m, 31.1 - 35.4 lb-ft)
- Remove the automatic transaxle and motor assembly with a jack after loosening the mounting bolts (A, B).
Tightening torque:
- 42.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.3 - 5.5 kgf.m, 31.1 - 39.8 lb-ft)
- 42.2 - 48.1 N.m (4.3 - 4.9 kgf.m, 31.1 - 35.4 lb-ft)
