Repair Procedures: Installation
Information
- In order to mount the front glass, use the tools shown in the following figure:
- Use a blade (A) to cut off residual sealant (B) around body frame.
- Apply the body primer to the bonding surface of body panel.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to touch the surface covered with the primer because touching it may lead to water leaks after installing the tailgate glass.
- Do not apply the body primer to the glass.
- Remove any foreign materials from the primer-covered surface.
- Apply the glass primer to the outer edge of tailgate glass.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to touch the surface covered with the primer because touching it may lead to water leaks after installing the tailgate glass.
- Do not apply the body primer to the glass.
- Remove any foreign materials from the primer-covered surface.
- Apply a bead of sealant (B) around the tailgate glass (A).
- Using the glass holder (A), adjust the windshield glass (B) to fit the alignment marks (C) on the body and lightly push the windshield glass to make the edges fully seated on the bonding surface of body.
Information
- When installing the tailgate window glass (B), be sure to fit the protruding part (C) on the reverse side of the glass into the groove on the body frame.
- Conduct a leak testing.
Information
- Do not directly spray the high-pressure water to the joint area.
- In case of water leaks, apply sealant to the water-leaking area.NOTE:
- Allow the vehicle to stand flat for at least 4 hours after installing the windshield.
- If driving the car is inevitable, drive at a low speed for at least 8 hours.
- Advise the driver to avoid aggressive driving or driving on rough roads for 2-3 days after installing the windshield glass.
- Connect the hot wire connector (A).

- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Information
- Make sure the connector is connected properly.
- Replace any damaged clips or retainers.
