Repair Procedures: Replacement
CAUTION:
- When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
- Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
- Disconnect the water cooled intercooler inlet hose and then drain the water cooled intercooler coolant.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "COOLANT ")
- Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/recycling/charging station.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "REPAIR PROCEDURES ")
- Remove the front bumper beam assembly.
(Refer to Front Bumper - "FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the head lamps.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD LAMPS ")
- Remove the daytime running lights (DRL).
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRL) ")
- Disconnect the hood latch cable (A).
- Disconnect the hood latch connector (A).
- Separate the suction & liquid line (A), after removing the nuts.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)
- Remove the air duct (A).
- Disconnect the FIS connector (A).

- Disconnect the front end module main connector (A).

- Remove the intercooler inlet hose & pipe (A).
- Remove the intercooler outlet hose & pipe (A).
- Separate reservoir hose (A).
- Separate the ATF cooler hose (A).
- Separate the radiator upper hose (A).
- Separate the radiator lower hose (A).
- Remove the carrier assembly (A) from the body, after removing the bolts.
Tightening torque:
25.5 - 38.2 N.m (2.6 - 3.9 kgf.m, 18.8 - 28.2 lb-ft)
- Remove the horn.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "HORN ")
- Remove the condenser.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - "CONDENSER ")
- Remove the radiator.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "RADIATOR ")
- Remove the hood latch.
(Refer to Hood - "HOOD LATCH ")
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Information
- Make sure the connector is connected properly.
- Replace any damaged clips or retainers.
