Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Shift the gear to "N".
  2. Turn OFF ignition switch and then disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Remove the battery and battery tray.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")

  5. Remove the ECM.

    (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) ")

  6. Loosen the nut (A) and then separate the shift cable (B).

  7. Remove the shift lever knob & boots (A) pull both of it up.

  8. Remove the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FLOOR CONSOLE ")

  9. Disconnect the shift cable socket (B) after removing the snap pin (A).

  10. Remove the crash pad.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "CRASH PAD ")

  11. Remove the heater and blower.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "HEATER UNIT ")

  12. Remove the retainer (A) by loosening the nuts (B).
