Repair Procedures: Inspection: Notes
- Check the engine oil quality.
Check the oil deterioration, entry of water, discoloring of thinning. If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil.
- Check the engine oil level.
- Park the car on the even ground, and then warm up the engine until the coolant temperature reaches to normal temperature.
- Turn off the engine and then open the hood.
- Remove the engine oil filler cap and oil level gauge and then wait until the oil level becomes stable (about 15 minutes).
- Wipe the engine oil level gauge using a clean cloth.
- Put the engine oil level gauge into the engine again and then remove the engine oil level gauge.
- Check whether the oil level is between the "F" and "L" marks on the engine oil level gauge.
- If the level is lower than "L" mark, check for leakage and open the engine oil filler cap and then must add the engine oil up to the "F" mark.
- Check the engine oil level again whether the oil level is in specified quantity.
- Close the engine oil filler cap and put the engine oil level gauge into the engine.
NOTE:
- Do not fill with engine oil above the "F" mark.
