PCM (ECM/TCM) System
The PCM sends request data, such as torque reduction, the number of fuel cut cylinders, and the TCS control request, to the Engine ECM and Transmission Control Module (TCM) through CAN bus line. The PCM (ECM) conducts the fuel cut according to the request from the VDC module (Vehicle Dynamic Control Unit) and then retards ignition timing. The TCU maintains current gear position during the TCS control in order to prevent a Kick down shift.
