Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Electrical Check
  1. Short to battery power in harness
  2. Poor connection or damaged harness
Case 1 Prerequisite Condition
  • Elapsed time after ignition 'ON' is longer than 0.1 seconds.
  • Engine is stopped.
  • No main relay error is occurred.
Threshold Value
  • Alternator load is less than 15%
Diagnosis Time
  • 1 Second
Case 2 Prerequisite Condition
  • Engine speed is higher than 0 RPM
  • No relevant failure is detected.
  • Battery voltage is lower than 16V
  • Engine speed is between 600 RPM and 4000 RPM.
  • Engine coolant temperature is higher than 73°C (140°F)
Threshold Value
  • Alternator load is less than 2%
Diagnosis Time
  • 20 Seconds
MIL On Condition
  • No MIL ON (DTC Only)
