Repair Procedures: Removal

[Gasoline 2.0] 

1. Remove the Under Cover.

   (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

2. Remove the Sub Frame.

   (Refer to Suspension System - SUB FRAME )

3. Remove the Front Drive Shaft Assembly. [Right Side]

   (Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - "FRONT DRIVESHAFT ")

4. Remove the front propeller shaft assembly (A) from the transfer assembly.

   Tightening Torque: 

   49.0 - 68.6 N.m (5.0 - 7.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 50.6 lb-ft)

5. Remove the transfer case assembly.

   Tightening Torque: 

   60.8 - 65.7 N.m (6.2 - 6.7 kgf.m, 44.8 - 48.5 lb-ft)

   [Transfer Assembly -> Transaxle] 

   1. Loosen the transfer assembly upper mounting bolts (A).

1. Remove the Under Cover.

   (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

2. Remove the Front Drive Shaft Assembly.[Right Side] 

   (Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - "FRONT DRIVESHAFT ")

3. Remove the front propeller shaft assembly (A) from the transfer assembly.

   Tightening Torque: 

   49.0 - 68.6 N.m (5.0 - 7.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 50.6 lb-ft)

4. Remove the roll rod assembly after loosening the bolts (A), (B).

   Tightening Torque 

   1. 107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)
   2. 49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)

5. Remove the transfer case assembly.

   Tightening Torque: 

   60.8 - 65.7 N.m (6.2 - 6.7 kgf.m, 44.8 - 48.5 lb-ft)

   [Transfer Assembly -> Transaxle] 

   1. Loosen the transfer assembly upper mounting bolts (A).

   3. Remove the transfer assembly (C) after separate the transaxle assembly with using a pry bar from the sub frame.

1. Remove the propeller shaft (A).

   Tightening Torque: 

   49.0 - 68.6 N.m (5.0 - 7.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 50.6 lb-ft)

2. Loosen the transfer assembly mounting bolts (A).
3. Remove the transfer assembly (B).
