DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible cause
DTC Strategy  
  • Circuit monitoring
  
  1. Open or short circuit in brake switch line
  2. Faulty brake light switch
  3. Faulty stop signal relay
Enable Conditions  
  • Brake switch ON status for 6 minutes continuously while vehicle speed is faster than 20 km/h (12.5 mph) and conditions of brake pedal movement is less than 2 mm and brake pedal pressure is below 0.5bar
  • Brakes with OFF status for 3 seconds during condition of brake pedal movement is more than 5 mm and brake pedal pressure is higher than 5bar
Fail-Safe  
  • Inhibit the ESP (ESC) control and allow the ABS/EBD control
  • The ESP (ESC) warning lamp is activated
