Repair Procedures: Removal
- Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery and then wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels can face straight ahead.
- Remove the airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")
- Disconnect the connector & lock nut (A) and then remove the steering wheel by using special service tools (09561-11001).
Tightening torque : 44.1 ~ 49.0 N.m (4.5 ~ 5.0 kgf.m, 32.5 ~ 36.2 lb-ft)
CAUTION:- Do not use a hammer to remove the steering wheel, it may damage the steering column.
- Insert the end of the flat tool along the guide hole. ( 5mm allen wrench recommend.)
- After inserting the tool, lightly press it. Can be easily remove the air bag module.
- Installation is the reverse of the removal.
