WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

■ Check Generator Position Sensor

  1. IG key "OFF".
  2. Disconnect SAFETY PLUG* and then Wait for more than 5 minutes.
  3. Disconnect HSG* connector.
  4. Measure the resistance of HSG Position Sensor* below.

    Reference Value (23°C)

    Terminal (+) Probe ↔ (-) Probe Resistance
    "HYBRID STARTER & GENERATOR MOTOR_Resolver" Component connector (+) ↔ (-) 10.53Ω~12.87Ω
    "SNSR1" ↔ "SNSR3" 28.8Ω~35.2Ω
    "SNSR2" ↔ "SNSR4" 24.3Ω~29.7Ω
    (+) ↔ Shield Over 10MΩ
    (+) ↔ Ground Over 10MΩ
    (-) ↔ Shield Over 10MΩ
    (-) ↔ Ground Over 10MΩ
  5. Is the measured resistance within reference value?

YES

NO

NOTE: SAFETY PLUG*: "BMS ASSEMBLY_MAIN BATTERY SERVICE PLUG"
HSG*: "HYBRID STARTER & GENERATOR MOTOR"
HSG Position Sensor*: "HYBRID STARTER & GENERATOR MOTOR_Resolver"
GCU (HPCU)*: "HYBRID POWER CONTROL UNIT_HPCU"
NOTE: After Generator (HSG) is replaced or reinstalled, must perform the following.
  • Perform "Motor/HSG Resolver Calibration" procedure in "HCU/LDC" system →"Vehicle S/W Management"
  • Fill the coolant, and then perform "Actuation Test" → [EWP Actuation] and circulate the coolant.
WARNING: Non-compliance with the following instructions can induce death or injury caused by electric shock.
  • Carefully read and follow service information instructions.
  • Wear insulated gloves, safety glasses and use insulated tools for your safety.
  • Turn IG key switch off and disconnect ground cable of auxiliary battery and remove the safety plug.
  • Wait for more than 5 minutes so that the inverter capacitor can be naturally discharged.
  • Check the high voltage terminal on the power relay assembly is lower than 30V.
