Monitor DTC Status

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Connect GDS to "DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC)".
  2. IG key "ON", Engine "OFF".
  3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" with GDS.
  4. Confirm that the "DTC Readiness Flag" indicates "COMPLETED". If not, drive the vehicle within conditions noted in Freeze Frame Data or Enable Conditions.
  5. Read the "DTC Status" parameter.

  6. Is parameter displayed "Present"?

    YES

    • IG Key "OFF" → Wait for 10 seconds → IG Key "ON" → Perform "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)"

→ Read the "DTC Status" parameter.

→ If the "DTC Status" is "History", connect MCU/GCU High Voltage Input Power Cable* again.

→ If the "DTC Status" is "Present", Substitute with a known-good MCU (HPCU)* and then check for proper operation.

→ If the problem is corrected, replace MCU (HPCU)*.

→ Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO

    • Fault is intermittent caused by Poor Contact in MCU/GCU High Voltage Input Power Cable*'s connector or was repaired and MCU (HPCU)* memory was not cleared.

→ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

→ Repair or replace as necessary, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

NOTE: MCU/GCU High Voltage Input Power Cable*: "HYBRID POWER CONTROL UNIT_HYBRID INVERTER_Power Relay Assembly"_"(+)", "(-)" MCU (HPCU)*: "HYBRID POWER CONTROL UNIT"
NOTE: After HPCU is replaced or reinstalled, must perform the following.
  • Perform "Motor/HSG Resolver Calibration" procedure in "HCU/LDC" system →"Vehicle S/W Management"
  • Fill the coolant, and then perform "Actuation Test" → [EWP Actuation] and circulate the coolant.
WARNING: Non-compliance with the following instructions can induce death or injury caused by electric shock.
  • Carefully read and follow service information instructions.
  • Wear insulated gloves, safety glasses and use insulated tools for your safety.
  • Turn the ignition switch off and Disconnect ground cable of auxiliary battery and Remove the safety plug.
  • Wait for more than 5 minutes so that the inverter capacitor can be naturally discharged.
  • Check high voltage terminal on Power Relay Assembly is lower than 30V.
