Air Injection Procedure: Notes

NOTE:
  • When injecting air into the air suspension system, always raise the vehicle off the ground using a lift to prevent potential damage to the air spring.
  • When injecting air into the air suspension system, use air injection equipment with an air filtering function to inject air to a pressure of 12 bar. Failure to do so may seriously affect the durability and performance of the air suspension system.
IMPORTANT:
  • Injecting air into an air suspension system while it is bearing the weight of the vehicle may cause the springs to buckle or warp. This can potentially interfere with the surrounding areas or damage other parts.
  • The following figure shows the phenomenon that can occur:

[Air Injection equipment for the air suspension system]

  1. Connect the air hose to the air inlet on the side of the air injection equipment.
  2. Ensure that the initial air pressure is 5 bar.

Initial air pressure to normal values:  approx. 5 bar

  3. Connecting the air hose automatically starts the equipment and increases the injection air pressure.
  4. Wait until the air pressure gauge indicates 12 bar.

Injection air pressure to normal values:  approx. 12~17 bar

    IMPORTANT:
    • If you are using this air injection equipment for the first time, wait for about 10 minutes after the air pressure reaches 12 bar. This removes the moisture from the air.
  5. Connect the injection nozzle (A) of the air injection equipment to the air inlet valve of vehicle. Pull it back and forth to ensure that it is firmly connected.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not direct the injection nozzle toward people. Injection air is highly pressurized (approx. 12 bar).
    • Make sure that all of the connections are firmly in place before starting injecting the air pressure.
    • Replace the filter and moisture-removing agents in the air injection equipment every two years.
NOTE: When using air injection equipment
    1. Connect the air filler while the vehicle is raised on a lift and the rear wheels are removed.
    2. Connect a diagnostics device (with the appropriate function), and then select System Filling (Basic Charge/Custom Charge).
    • Custom Charge (service agency): Air filling is sequentially implemented in the order of the front wheels (7 bar), rear wheels (6.5 bar), and reservoir tank (10 bar).

When not using air injection equipment

    1. Connect a diagnostics device (with the appropriate function), and then select Air Spring Filling.
    2. Start recharging the reservoir with the correct amount pressure for each air spring (front wheels: 7 bar, rear wheels: 6.5 bar).
