Repair Procedures: Disassembly

Disconnect the M-terminal on the starter solenoid assembly.

After loosening the 3 screws (A), detach the starter solenoid assembly (B).

Loosen the through bolts (A).

Remove the brush holder assembly (C) the yoke (B) the armature (A) and the rear housing (D).

Remove the shield (A) and packing (B).

Remove the lever plate (A) and lever packing (B).

Disconnect the planet gear (A).

Remove the planet shaft assembly (A) and lever (B).

Press the stopper (A) using a socket (B).

After removing the stop ring (A) using stop ring pliers (B).

Disconnect the stopper (A), overrunning clutch (B), internal gear (C) and planet shaft (D).

NOTE: Using a suitable pulling tool (A), pull the overrunning clutch stopper (B) over the stop ring (C).

Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.
