Repair procedures: Removal

  1. Preparation
    1. Remove the 2nd seat (Refer to REAR SEAT ).
    2. Open the carpet for fuel pump (A).

    3. Remove the service cover of the fuel pump (A).

    4. Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A).

    5. Start the engine and wait until fuel in fuel line is exhausted.
    6. After engine stops, turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector (A).

  3. Open the service cover of the sub fuel sender (A).

  4. Disconnect the sub fuel sender connector (A) and the canister close valve connector (B).

  5. Lift the vehicle and remove the muffler assembly and the propeller shaft (4WD) (Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD and PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY ).
  6. Support the fuel tank with a jack.
  7. Disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (A) and the vacuum tube quick-connector (B).

  8. Remove the bracket (A) near the fuel tank air filter.

  9. Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A) and the ventilation hose quick-connector (B).

  10. Disconnect the leveling tube quick-connector (A).

  11. Remove the fuel tank cover (A).

  12. Unscrew the fuel tank bank mounting nuts (A) and remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
